We have reached the beginning of another new year.  Time to reset the goals for the upcoming year.  A time when everything is new and shiny.  A time to begin again.  So while I sit here at the start of the new year, I have to reflect on what has been and where I hope to go.

I enjoy writing so it seemed only natural for me to write a blog.  I have seen other people have success at writing and in making money at writing.  Like many others I thought I could do it too.  I have a full time job already and my husband and I both have craft businesses but at some point in my life I would like to retire and be able to have some income without having to be a greeter at Walmart.  Blogging seemed to be a way I could avoid Walmart.  Even with all this to occupy my time, I still wanted to try.

In 2016 I started my blog. I already had a website for my craft business so it felt natural to blog about crafting. I wrote a few pieces and promoted my craft with no reaction. I got discouraged and found that other things filled my time and I stopped.

In 2017 I took a writing class for my job. It helped me improve my writing skills and I was ready to try blogging again. This time I did lots of research and learned how I wanted to add it to my website and how to link it to other social media.  I also learned that it was going to take some time and patience.  In September I signed up for the Laptop Lifestyle Business Club run by Angela Wills.  Her October challenge was blogging. Instead of the two weeks of the challenge I chose to create a new post each day in October. This proved to be a bigger challenge than anticipated and by the end I was burned out.  A lot was learned from this experience and I don’t regret doing it but once again I stopped blogging.

So now that the holidays are over and we are at the start of a new year, I’m ready for a fresh start...again.  Armed with my lessons learned in October, my goal is to create better quality blogs that are something that readers want to know.  Maybe this means blogging only two or three times per week but quality is better than quantity.  I have three passions in life (besides my family), crafting (specifically crochet), administrative organization, and cats.  Expect to see posts on these but there is no telling what else I may come up with.  Subscribe to my blog using the link so you don’t miss any of my adventure.

Until Next Time...
Linda
