Scrubby 2s | How to Use Them | How to Make Your Own

Before I get to ways you can use a Scrubby 2, you probably want to know what it is. You may have heard of scrubbies, they are also known as pot scrubbers.

What is a Scrubby 2 ~ ~ ~

A Scrubby 2 is part scrubber and part washcloth. One side is made from nylon net the same as our regular scrubbies. The other from cotton yarn the same as our washcloths. Use the scrubbing side to get those stubborn spots and the cotton side to wipe it up.

Here are some uses for a Scrubby 2 ~ ~ ~

➠ This is my #1 go to for washing dishes!

➠ They work great in the kitchen for pans, cook tops, appliances, or any type of counter top you have.

➠ Keep one by the bathroom sink to stay on top of the messes like toothpaste or makeup.

➠ Use them in the shower. The washcloth side works for body soap and the scrubby side for rough heels or extra dirty hands or feet.

➠ Great for car enthusiasts. Use for cleaning chrome, wheels and windows.

Frequently Asked Questions ~ ~ ~

What is Nylon Net? Nylon net is a mesh like fabric that has larger holes than Tulle. It is also stiffer and not as soft as Tulle. This gives you the scrub effect especially when cut into strips. Be sure you are getting Nylon Net and NOT Tulle when you shop for supplies.

Where can I purchase Nylon Net? I found this Amazon vendor who has it for sale. It is also available at most fabric stores. It is 72” wide and sold by the yard. I watch for it to go on sale and stock up.

How do you prepare the fabric? I cut it into strips that are approximately 1-½ inches wide. This doesn’t need to be exact. The strips are tied together and rolled into a ball to make the scrubby yarn.

What type of yarn is used on the washcloth side? I use 100% Cotton Yarn on this side. Lion Brand Kitchen Cotton Yarn is great for this. You can also use Lily Sugar ‘N Cream Cotton Yarn.
